Dr Martine Keenan Co-Authors Book Chapter

Challenging the status quo is a necessity in drug discovery to keep research moving forwards.

Our Head of Drug Discovery, Dr Martine Keenan, co-authored a book chapter in the recently published volume Neglected Tropical Diseases: Drug Discovery and Development with Dr Eric Chatelain from the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative. Martine and Eric discuss the challenges around designing drugs to target Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiological agent of Chagas Disease.

Having worked together in this field for more than 10 years they have a clear insight into when “chemistry needs biology” to understand how to design drugs to treat this recalcitrant parasitic infection.
