Perth Modern School Visits Epichem

Perth Modern School students experienced real world Chemistry, thanks to Science teacher, Kate Holland, for bringing some bright STEM sparks to experience Epichem's labs, expertise and capability.

Student chemist and reporter Huda says, "We all learned a lot about the flexibility of the scientific method, discovering and making life-saving drugs. We came to three key conclusions:
1. 60 degrees is the optimal temperature for Aspirin production (props to Gaius and Akaash for reaching 98.9% purity)
2. A career in chemistry or medicinal chemistry is worthwhile and exciting.
3. School is not useless – pay special attention to your teachers when you get to organic chemistry.
Our foray into the world of organic chemistry in an industrial setting was an amazing experience, many thanks to Epichem and our hosts James Rixson, Production Manager, and Melissa Jackaman, Facilities Coordinator."
